I always say that if you need to get something done, you can safely turn to software. No matter what you need to get done, there is an application out there that can lend a helping hand. There is an application that can help you out, no matter what you want.

Say for example you want to get some legal stuff done. There is an application out there that can prove to be useful. The application I am talking about is the SoftCircuits-developed, the aptly named All-Purpose Legal Documents. This application puts at your disposal a grand total of 56 legal documents, organized in 8 different categories.

One category is called “Blank” and it comes with a blank documents, so it doesn’t really count. Let’s take a look at the other 7 categories and the legal documents included in each category:

Business: Corporate Name Application, Articles of Incorporation, Bill of Sale, Confidentiality Agreement, Certificate of Dissolution, Consulting Agreement, Corporate Resolution, Cover Letter for Filing Articles, General Receipts, Independent Contractor Contract, Promissory Note (No Interest), Promissory Note (Lump Sum), Promissory Note (Simple Interest), Promissory Note (Installments), Reaffirmation Agreement, Request for Notice.

Contracts: Employment Contract, Mutual Release, Non-Competition Agreement, Auto Sale Contract.

Estate: The Children's Trust, Codicil to Will, Declaration of Trust, Durable Power of Attorney, Last Will and Testament, Living Will, Nomination of Conservator, Power of Attorney, Revoke Power of Attorney, Revoke Trust, Revoke Will, Simple Will and Testament, Amendment to Trust.

Family: Paternity Acknowledgment, Ownership Agreement (Real Property), Cohabitation Agreement (Separate), Cohabitation Agreement (Shared), Community Property Agreement, Postnuptial Agreement, Prenuptial Agreement, Separation Agreement.

General: Demand for Payment, Request for Statement of Account, Letter to Stop Collections, Notary Jurat, Proof of Service, Request for Credit Report

Lease/Rent: 3-30 Day Intention Notice, Commercial Lease Agreement, Notice to Pay Rent, Reclaim Abandoned Property, Residential Rental Agreement.

Real Estate: Deed in Lieu of Foreclosure, Estoppel Affidavit, Quitclaim Deed.

Using All-Purpose Legal Documents is an incredibly straightforward process. In the left hand corner of the screen are the 8 categories presented above. Click any category and in the right hand corner of the screen, the documents included in that category appear. Double click a document and you can view it; then click on Customize/Print and that document will be opened in your default text editor. Edit the document and when you’re done, don’t forget to save it. You can access the edited document at a later time; just click the “Customized Documents” tab and the document you edited will be right there.

• Not exactly the prettiest interface
